Profile

The MVZ Infectiologie specialises in HIV infections in all stages and the frequently accompanying diseases.

It offers the entire spectrum of the required comprehensive diagnostics. The therapy is adjusted and monitored in close cooperation with colleagues from other Charité departments. One example is the care of pregnant HIV-positive patients in close cooperation with the Clinic for Gynaecology and Obstetrics and the Children's HIV Outpatient Clinic.

The focus is on the individual and personal care of the patients. Not only is apparatus medicine used, but the MVZ doctors are also happy to take the necessary time to explain all the results in an understandable way in a personal conversation and to answer open questions.

What is HIV/AIDS?

HIV is the abbreviation for a human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), which can trigger an acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS).

If left untreated, this progressive immunodeficiency can result in severe infections and tumours after just under a decade, as well as a multitude of other HIV-associated complications, most of which are fatal.
